Ingredients for the Steak:

  • Flank Steak

  1. Mix together all the ingredients except the steak in a bowl. Place the steak in a Ziploc bag and pour the ingredients into it. Seal the bag and evenly spread the ingredients making sure that the steak gets fully coated in it.
  2. Refrigerate the steak for 8 hours or overnight.
  3. Method of Preparation for the Mayonnaise:
  4. Preheat the oven to 350 F.
  5. Place the garlic on a baking tray and sprinkle some salt and drizzle some live oil on it.
  6. Cover the garlic with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  7. Instead of garlic cloves, you can use a whole garlic bulb as well. Just chop it off from the top and roast.
  8. Mince the garlic cloves and add in the mayonnaise and season to taste. Mix well.

  1. Take out the marinated steak from the refrigerator and let it come down to the room temperature.
  2. Take the onion and peel and slice it roughly into medium sized slices.
  3. Take a large pan and add ½ tsp of olive oil in it. Add in the onions and fry them until they become golden brown. This process will take between 15 to 25 minutes. Make sure that you stir the onions occasionally so that they do not get burned.
  4. Season the onions with salt and remove them on a plate. Set aside.
  5. Heat your grill and cook your steak on each side for 6 to 7 minutes or until it becomes tender according to your own choice.
  6. Once the steak is done, remove it to a platter and let it get cooked in its own juice for 5 to 10 minutes.
  7. Heat the rest of the olive oil in a medium sized wok, and add mushrooms. Let them cook for a few minutes making sure that you do not stir them.Stir the mushrooms and make sure that they become golden brown.
  8. Add in the minced garlic into the mushrooms and season with salt. Cook for a minute and remove from heat.
  9. For assembling the sandwich, take 2 slices of bread and spread the prepared mayonnaise on each of them.
  10. Place the steak on a slice followed by a few tablespoons of the caramelized onions, mushroom mixture and blue cheese. Cover it with another bread slice.

  3. De seed the bell peppers and slice them thinly as well.
